Custom control surfaces running an automated production

Overview

Most production errors are not equipment failures. They are the result of a person doing several things at once under time pressure and missing a step. Automation removes those steps, so the operator supervises a system instead of working from memory.

We build control systems around the way a production actually runs: Companion programming that puts complex multi-device actions behind one button, automated PTZ camera moves on cue, Stream Deck layouts for common operations, and integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

Why clients choose us

Fewer operator errors

Complex sequences reduced to a single control, so a missed step is designed out rather than relied on.

Consistent results

Rehearsed camera positions and scene states reproduce exactly, whoever is operating.

Faster changeovers

Preset-driven reset between sessions reduces downtime on multi-session programmes.

Works with your existing kit

Automation built around the equipment you already own, not a requirement to replace it.

Typical use cases

  • Multi-camera PTZ automation for conferences
  • Stream Deck and Companion control surfaces
  • Automated scene and preset changes
  • Multi-room and multi-source switching
  • Studio and control room workflow automation
  • Integration between separate production systems

Frequently asked questions

What is Bitfocus Companion?

Companion is widely used production control software that connects many different devices and systems into one control surface. It lets a single button run a sequence of actions across several pieces of equipment, which is why it is popular for stream decks and show control.

Can you automate cameras we already own?

In most cases, yes. PTZ cameras from the major manufacturers support position presets and can be triggered on cue. If your existing cameras are supported by the control software, we can usually build on them rather than replacing them.

Do we need automation for a small event?

Often not, and we will say so. Automation earns its place when a production repeats, when several systems must stay in sync, or when changeovers are frequent. For a simple one-off session it can be unnecessary complexity.

Can you program a control system for our own team to operate?

Yes, and this is a common request. We build the system, document it clearly and train your team to run it, so you are not dependent on us for routine operation.
